Dave Wilson

Playing country music from the age of seventeen in his local North Eastern venues Dave was soon recruited to join his first band a trio called Rio Grand a resident group at a western themed restaurant in Lancashire. The line up changed but Dave remained at the club for 10 years. He then went on to join a five piece band called Diablo. Massively successful winning club lands converted title for "Best group of the year. " The only country band to have ever achieved this. Records were released and TV appearances followed but after 3 years the band sadly broke up. Dave continued to play in a duo with the pedal steel artist called Deuce until moving to Leeds for work commitments. Thinking he would have to give up music but he could not get it out of his system he teamed up with a couple of friends forming a trio Prediction. A tight knit unit with great songs and impressive harmonies. Next move was when he teamed back up with the Diablo lead guitarist to as Stateline the duo. Out of the blue he was then approached to join a top group working the circuit when their lead singer needed to move on and the band became Little Rock which Dave says were the best group of musicians he ever worked with. Once again work commitments made it difficult to fulfil all the tours and interest so after two and a half years he joined up with Kevin again to become Two For Texas. The duo continued for a further 10 Years when he was made redundant from work and decided to turn pro. Kevin could not join him in this venture Dave Ellis came in and American Spirit were born. Once again amazingly successful for an eight year period then Dave Ellis wanted to cut down the travelling around. Dave Wilson solo artist took over and is now a very popular act around the whole county. Daves influences were Merle Hagard, Marty Robbins, Colin Raye, Ricky Van Shelto, The Eagles, Alabama, Restless Heart and every musician he has had the pleasure of working with. Long may he continue to grace our stages.
